InStyle Direct believes in the power of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and giving back to the communities we serve. As part of our ongoing charity initiatives, we donated 10 televisions to St Luke’s Hospice in Harrow Weald, supporting their honourable work in caring for those with terminal illnesses.
Supporting Local Charities with Essential Donations
St Luke’s Hospice provides compassionate care and support to individuals and their families during difficult times. By donating televisions, we aimed to contribute to creating a more fulfilling, homely environment for hospice residents.
Sustainable Recycling: Minimising Waste Responsibly
Sustainability is at the heart of our business. We therefore ensure that items unsuitable for donation are responsibly recycled. Any broken TVs that couldn’t be reused were taken to a local recycling centre. From there, they were forwarded to a reprocessing site in Kent, where electrical items are broken down into smaller components for recycling.
- Glass from TV screens is separated and repurposed.
- Internal electrical components are processed and recycled individually to minimise waste.

As part of our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, we actively work towards minimising waste and reducing our carbon footprint through furniture and appliance donation and sustainable disposal practices. Our approach includes:
- Promoting and recycling used furniture, reducing the demand for new resources and preventing unnecessary landfill waste.
- Ensuring our operations align with ethical sourcing, including responsible supply chains and fair treatment of workers.
- Using renewable energy in our warehouse to lower our environmental impact.
- Encouraging sustainable transport solutions, with 75% of our sales fleet now electric and further plans for emission reductions.
By incorporating these efforts into our business model, we make sure that our charity initiatives not only support local communities but also align with our long-term sustainability goals.
