With spring hopefully not too far away, now is the time to brighten up your home with a few, luxurious new accessories. New cushions, an eye catching piece of art or a piece of statement furniture – they’re all great ways to create a new look without spending a fortune.
Elegant Accessories
Soft furnishings are an easy way to glam up your home. For large pieces of furniture such as sofas and chairs, we tend to use neutral colours – greys, sands and khakis – that will stand the test of time. But for soft furnishings we can add some glamour with beautiful accent colours. Teal and citrine are both big for spring and summer so look out for cushions, rugs and throws in these colours.
And think about different textures – silks, cashmeres or try our new cable knit designs – they all help to add interest and create a sense of luxury and comfort. Add a new lamp or a vase of fresh flowers and you have a sophisticated new look with very little effort.
Affordable Artwork
A stunning piece of artwork helps to stamp your own personality on a room – and it doesn’t have to cost a lot. We often choose bold, black and white framed prints to create a focal point. Nature studies work well – think pebbles, sandy beaches, forests and seascapes. They create a really tranquil feel and complement most furnishings and colours.

Make a Statement
Or why not create a talking point amongst your guests with a piece of statement furniture? A client recently asked us to find a funky red coffee table for their living room. We did a little research and found just what they had in mind. It looks fantastic but the key to making the look a success was to keep everything else in the room really simple. We designed the rest of the room around the coffee table! It looks amazing and we were able to create a designer feel without spending too much.
When we’re putting together our furnishing packs, we change our soft furnishings and accessories every six months – trends change and bringing in new ideas helps to keep things fresh and new. A few new touches here and there can help you brighten up a room too – for a surprisingly small outlay.
